Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for the Lightly website. You can find the app’s privacy policy under Privacy Policy App.

Information We Collect

We only collect information when you explicitly provide it through contacting us or when you consent to share anonymous analytics.

Information You Provide to Us

Email address: Only when you explicitly contact us via email.

Information We Collect Automatically

Analytics Data (PostHog): With your consent, we collect pseudonymous usage statistics using PostHog (EU-hosted) to help us improve the website.

The data collected may include:

  • Pageviews and page exits
  • Clicks on links and buttons
  • Changes to standard form fields (without capturing entered content)
  • Web performance metrics (e.g., loading performance)
  • Device and browser information
  • Approximate location (country/region), derived from IP address

IP addresses are processed transiently to derive approximate geographic information and for security purposes (such as bot detection) and are not stored with event data. We do not intentionally transmit personally identifiable information (such as names or email addresses) through our analytics implementation, and our configuration is designed to avoid collecting such data.

If you reject analytics cookies, limited cookieless measurement is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding basic website usage and maintaining website performance. In this mode, no persistent identifiers are stored in your browser, no cross-session tracking takes place, and analytics is limited to aggregated, non-profiling measurement.

How and Why We Use Information

We use information about you solely for the following purposes:

To respond to your inquiries:
Your email address will only be used to reply to your direct messages. We will never use this data to send marketing content, updates, or unrelated communications.

To maintain and improve the website:
With your consent, anonymized usage data helps us understand performance, identify issues, and improve the user experience.

Sharing Information

We share information about you only in limited circumstances and with appropriate safeguards on your privacy.

Legal and regulatory requirements:
We may disclose information about you if required by law, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request.

Analytics Data with PostHog:
If you consent to analytics cookies, pseudonymous usage data is processed by PostHog, Inc. using its EU-hosted cloud infrastructure.

To improve reliability and secure delivery of analytics requests, analytics traffic may be routed through Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as an infrastructure and content delivery provider for this functionality.

Cloudflare processes analytics requests on behalf of PostHog for the purpose of routing and delivering traffic. This may involve transient processing of IP addresses and technical request metadata.

Analytics data is primarily stored and processed within the European Union. PostHog acts as a data processor on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement.

If you decline analytics cookies, limited cookieless measurement may still occur based on our legitimate interest in understanding basic website usage. In this mode, no persistent identifiers are stored in your browser and no cross-session tracking takes place. IP address and device information are processed transiently to generate aggregated statistics and are not stored as user profiles.

How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to respond to your communications. All messages and contact details are deleted upon request.

Analytics data is retained only for a limited period necessary to understand usage trends and maintain website performance and is automatically deleted thereafter in accordance with our configured retention settings.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information.

  • Communication data (such as emails) remains within the respective communication platforms (e.g., Email-client).
  • Analytics data is primarily stored by PostHog within the European Union and is processed in pseudonymous form. Infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare may process traffic transiently for routing and security purposes.

Choices

Control what you share:

  • You choose whether or not to contact us via email.
  • You choose whether or not to allow analytics cookies.
  • Change your cookie preferences at any time via our cookie settings

Your Rights

If you wish to exercise your rights in relation to analytics data, you may be asked to provide a technical identifier (such as a browser-stored analytics identifier) so that we can locate the relevant data.
